Six U.S Insurance Firms Targeted For Probe

The top six health insurers in U.S have received letters from U.S Rep. Henry Waxman seeking the details about practices for small businesses. A Louisville based Incorporation Company is among six health insurers which have received letters. There are various insurers who have received letters which include Aetna Inc, United Health Group Inc, Well Point Inc, Media, and Well Mark Blue Cross Incorporation.

The U.S Representative said that the health insurers would terminate the coverage to small business by canceling the policies or raising premiums which are unaffordable.

In response to this letters America’s Health Insurance Plans said that there is a trade group which represents these companies. The investigation was designed to smear up the private companies and thus bolster the support for public insurance option.

This committee would request information and documents for small group policies which would include renewal rates, factors all of which would determine the premium rates with increase in premiums.
